During most of the 1950s television series Adventures of Superman, the Daily Planet exterior was Los Angeles City Hall. In 1978's Superman and its sequels, the Daily Planet exterior was the New York Daily News Building. The globe, which used to be on the top of the building, was apparently replaced with one in the front lobby to make room for a helipad on the roof.
